As a young Entrepreneur and Economist, Tiago Piassum started his entrepreneurial journey amid a landscape where resources were scarce but ambitions soared high. At 24 years old, he founded the financial advisory firm, Marco Investments. Under his leadership, the firm grew from 12 million to over 1 billion Brazilian reals in AUM within three years.
In the financial market, global investors and portfolio managers frequently sought his guidance to navigate the Brazilian agribusiness market. Yet, advising them proved difficult; high-quality assets were challenging to access, leaving eager investors at the doorstep of a thriving market with no entry. This gap underscored the need for a new approach to bridge these worlds.
November 2015 marked a turning point. Tiago attended the LabX program, an initiative by Jorge Paulo Lemman's foundation designed to nurture new leaders and ignite their biggest dreams. There, Tiago met Mauro, a successful entrepreneur and a guest speaker whose story of building thriving technology businesses in Latin America sparked inspiration and an immediate resonance with Tiago’s aspirations. From that inspiring encounter, a mentorship blossomed.
Upon scaling Marco Investimentos to impressive new heights, managing over 1 billion Brazilian reals, Tiago Piassum sought his next challenge. By 2021, as Mauro completed the sale of his companies Vetorial Internet and DataMax, a new opportunity emerged.
It was at this pivotal moment that Tiago teamed up with Mauro to use technology to bridge the gap between global investors and the Brazilian agribusiness market
Together, they channeled their collective expertise into a shared vision, laying the groundwork for what would become Rivool — a venture set to innovate global investment in Brazilian agribusiness.
