We proudly announce that Felipe Sena, our Director of Internationalization, participated in the Select USA Investment Summit 2024 in Washington, D.C., representing Rivool Finance. Our platform was one of 80 selected from over 300 applicants to pitch during the summit’s initial days.
The Select USA Investment Summit is a premier event promoting foreign direct investment (FDI) in the United States. The summit brings together economic development organizations, global business leaders, venture capitalists, and high-profile government officials to explore investment opportunities, foster innovation, and facilitate networking. It offers a unique platform for participants to connect with potential partners and investors, providing invaluable insights into the U.S. market landscape.
As a leader in leveraging blockchain technology to agricultural finance, Rivool Finance bridges global investors to the Brazilian private rural credit market. It combines technology and local expertise to offer high yields through world-class risk analysis.
Felipe enjoyed participating in Select Tech USA 2024, where he met Adriana, the Assistant Director of Business Development at Arlington Economic Development. Adriana visited the Rivool stand and explained various incentive and soft-landing programs to attract technology companies like Rivool Finance. Felipe was honored to receive an invitation to join LaTech, a new community for Latino tech entrepreneurs, and looks forward to participating in their upcoming event next month.
Felipe also connected with Frank Rexach, who supports UCR’s efforts to enhance regional investment and build a global entrepreneurial platform. They discussed Rivool Finance Technology and potential expansion programs through California. They explored opportunities to collaborate and drive growth in critical areas like clean air, clean energy, energy storage, and sustainable agriculture.
At this year’s investment summit, Felipe noticed that few startups implement blockchain in their solutions. Fortunately, he met Quan Phan from the Vietnam Blockchain Association, and they had an insightful discussion about the importance of educating the market on the enormous potential of blockchain technology. Quan is spearheading efforts in Asia to research, test, evaluate, standardize, and promote blockchain applications in Vietnam.
Given Rivool Finance Technology’s focus on leveraging blockchain to connect small and medium farmers in Brazil with global institutional investors, it was enlightening to see parallel efforts in other regions. This conversation reinforced the need for international collaboration to drive blockchain adoption and innovation.
Felipe also received invaluable one-on-one coaching from Nancy Hayes, Principal of NKH Group in San Francisco, along with representatives of the U.S. startup ecosystem. The valuable advice and insights were greatly appreciated.
The 2024 SelectUSA Investment Summit officially concluded with record attendance and engagement from over 5,000 attendees, 96 international markets, and all 56 U.S. states and territories. The event saw over 1,000 economic development organization representatives, 2,500 international delegates, 700 SelectUSA Tech participants, 97 Select Global Women in Tech (SGWIT) mentors, and 115 SGWIT mentees from 43 markets.
During the pitch, we presented to an esteemed panel of judges:
Mr. Andrew Magliochetti: Managing Partner at IronGate Capital Advisors.
Ms. Elizabeth McCluskey: Director of Discovery Fund at TruStage.
Mr. Jake McGee: Corporate Innovation at Plug and Play.
Ms. Shila Nieves Burney: General Partner at Zane Venture Fund.
It was an incredible opportunity to showcase our vision to such experienced professionals.
Rivool Finance is excited to leverage these connections and insights to further its mission of revolutionizing agricultural finance through blockchain technology.
