The company will initiate fundraising rounds abroad aiming to raise $100 million.

Rivool Finance, a fintech based in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, utilizes blockchain technology to tokenize agricultural receivables such as Rural Product Notes (CPR). Starting in June, the company plans to attract foreign resources to finance producers and agro-industries in Brazil. Over the next 12 months, Rivool intends to conduct five fundraising rounds, aiming to raise $20 million in each, preferably from institutional investors.

“Tokenization of assets is a way for foreign investors to engage with agricultural credit more easily, with greater assurance and less risk,” stated Tiago Piassum Theodoro, founder and CEO of Rivool, to IM Business. Abroad, the plan is to distribute the tokens primarily in Switzerland, according to the country’s regulations. In its business model, the fintech partners with entities such as the Machado Meyer law firm and Ecoagro, one of the largest securitizers in the sector in the country.

Rivool launched its operations by raising R$ 20 million from its own partners, family members, and close friends. Domestically, the company aims to increase its funding to R$ 50 million. One or more CPRs issued by rural producers and originated by the fintech can be transformed into a token, which is then traded on the market according to demand, with updated prices.

In light of prospects for expanding its business volume, Rivool is strengthening its team. Fernando Fegyveres, former executive at Itaú BBA and ex-CEO of Banco Voiter (previously Indusval), has acquired a minority stake and become a partner in the fintech, motivated by the opportunity to accelerate the development of innovations in Brazilian private rural credit, especially for small and medium-sized producers.

According to Piassum, the investment terms offered by Rivool typically range from 36 to 72 months, with returns around 1.5% per month. The company plans to issue a Fiagro, but in this case, tokenization is not yet permitted.
